Total content of gases dissolved in insulating oil
The article describes the situation when the Buchholtz (gas) relay begins to work due to supersaturation of the insulating oil by gases. Examples of practical measuring show the most frequent total concentrations of dissolved gases. After degassing of non-hermetic machine, the insulating oil is gradually saturated with gases. According to the construction of transformer and way of loading the stabilised state of saturation may be reached even after several years. In machines in operation the absolutely stabilised state cannot be ever reached due to changing internal and external conditions.
